What should you check on your vape each week?
Almost every device failure gives warning first. A short weekly look catches nearly all of them.
- 510 connection. Unscrew the tank and look at the centre pin on both mod and tank. A dull film there is the most common cause of intermittent "no atomiser" errors — wipe both with a dry cotton bud. The pin should be slightly proud, not recessed.
- Battery wraps. If you run removable cells, check the plastic wrap around each for nicks, tears or lifting at the top edge. Damaged wrap exposes the negative casing and is a real short-circuit risk. Rewrap or retire the cell — do not run it "just for now".
- O-rings and seals. Look for splits, flattening or perishing. Seals are the cheapest part on the device and cause the most annoying failures.
- Airflow. Hold the tank up to the light and confirm the slots are clear. Restricted airflow changes the draw and makes the coil run hotter than intended.
- Charge port. Pocket lint in a USB-C port causes charging faults that look like a dead battery. A dry toothpick or a puff of air clears it. Never poke a metal object into a charge port.
Storage, and why it matters more here
