Getting the most from a sub-ohm tank

Capacity is limited less by the tank than by where you are: bubble glass sections push many tanks to 5 ml or more and are the practical choice if you would rather not carry a bottle. Keep a spare glass in the drawer — it is the single most commonly broken part on any tank.

Check that replacement coils for the tank you are considering are widely stocked before buying. Proprietary heads for a discontinued tank get scarce fast, and that is what usually ends a tank's service life rather than any failure of the hardware.

Condensation in the airflow is normal rather than a defect. A quick wipe through the base and drip tip every few days keeps the draw clean and stops the gurgling that people usually mistake for a flooded coil.

If you are switching between very different flavours, a second tank is a cheaper and far more effective solution than trying to scrub a dessert profile out of one you have used for a month.
