How to pick a resistance

A coil that tastes burnt after two days is almost never faulty. The usual causes are chain-vaping past the wick's refill rate, running a sweet dessert liquid at high wattage, or letting the tank drop near empty. Staying inside the printed wattage range and topping up before the level reaches the intake holes will typically double the life you get.

Buy compatible, not merely similar. Coil threading and O-ring diameters vary between generations of the same tank, so check the head code printed on the coil body against your device rather than going by tank name alone.

Mesh has largely displaced round wire for good reason: the flat sheet heats evenly across a wider surface, so you get faster ramp-up and a more consistent flavour through the life of the head. It does drink liquid faster, which is the trade-off to plan around.

Keep more spares than you think you need. Coils are the one consumable that will strand you mid-week, and buying a five-pack costs meaningfully less per head than replacing them one at a time.
